FAQ
URL Shortener – Frequently Asked Questions
Everything about shortening links with Wasoolo Tools — free, custom, safe and private.
Is the Wasoolo Tools link shortener really free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no limits and no credit card. The core tool is free for everyone, forever.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Just paste your link and shorten it. Your short links are saved in your browser so you can find them again on the same device.
Do my short links expire?
No. Once created, your links keep working until you delete them or they are removed for abuse.
Can I choose my own custom keyword?
Yes — add a word like "sale" and we build your link around it, e.g. tools.wasoolo.com/sale/x7q. Every link also gets a unique code so two people can use the same keyword without clashing.
Can I get a QR code for my link?
Every link comes with a free QR code you can download and print — perfect for menus, posters and business cards.
Can I see how many people clicked?
Yes — open any link's stats page to see total clicks, clicks over time and the top referrers, with no login needed.
Are short links safe?
We screen destinations for spam and abuse and block internal or known-malicious addresses, so the links you share can be trusted.
How is my data handled and is it private?
We keep only aggregate analytics, never raw IP addresses, and set no tracking cookies. Your "My links" history lives only in your browser. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Can I report or remove a link?
Yes. If you find a harmful short link, use the Report abuse link in the footer and we will review and remove it.
Is there a developer API?
Yes — a free JSON API with no key required. See the Developers page for the endpoint, parameters and code examples.
